The first project "TERRA INCOGNITA – Conservation of European Earthen Architecture" (2006-2007) had prepared an inventory of earthen construction in Europe, offering a technical reference and a common methodology of conservation and preservation.
It had led to a landmark publication: Terra Incognita. European earthen architecture: discovering, preserving, Argumentum, Culture Lab, 2008.
There remained, however, to promote initiatives to raise public awareness of earth, its heritage and its current applications. Also, there remained to build and develop a European network of earthen construction.
